Underwater Love

We took an underwater film disposable-camera to Rarotonga, as we are nothing if not old-school. Most days my Dad & I took it kayaking on the lagoon with us and I love the adventures it captured. There are some pretty funny people shots- including the village fishing dogs who would swim out to the little motu islands but would hitch a lift back on your kayak if they could...but I liked the way the scenery shots came out, all wonky & dreamy.

Rarotonga {on film}

I love how these photos have come out. There is something about Fisheye camera + ISO 200 old film + Rarotonga which just equates to loveliness in my eyes.... Mind you, any camera plus Muri beach= a nice shot- what a stunning place. It has been as hot in New Zealand lately, but the appeal of hot, humid days somewhat wanes when you have you go to work... funny that ;)

Reflections

Some more Rarotonga pictures, changing light and reflections on the lagoon.
I am just now beginning to go through the digital photos I took {film pictures to come, sorry in advance!} but this is for no other reason but it makes me feel holiday-happy on a Monday morning...take me back :)

South Pacific dreaming

I have been so blessed all summer so far, with lovely weather back here in New Zealand and my parents here, but tis back to work tomorrow, while dreaming of lottery wins of course :) It has also been quite nice in some ways to be without technology- in this last week of the holidays we stayed by the beach in the Coromandel, where I had no internet, not much phone reception and only took film photos.

Lucky as I am though, am still dreaming of my Rarotonga times, so many happy sunset walks with bare feet in bath-warm sea water.

Rarotonga

This is where I have been lazing away my days recently...our holiday in Rarotonga was absolutely wonderful, swimming, laughing, kayaking, more swimming, lots of good books, hot hot sunshine. I have been back a few hours and already want to return...{also, freakily, in a 4 hour flight we have completely lost Tuesday 22nd January, thanks to the vagaries of cross-dateline travel. I will never have a 22/01/13!}
