To get into the Kiwi Christmas spirit, we went to see the Franklin Road lights, a bit of an Auckland institution. It's one road in particular where everyone goes all-out lighting up their houses and in the park down the hill there's a huge Christmas 'tree' made of lights. My 50mm lens doesn't fit it all in, but it was crowded with people oohing and aahing. It's a strange but pleasant sensation, walking around in the warm, eating ice-cream...and being Christmasy. The weather has been extremely humid here lately so off to do some late-night gingerbread cupcake-baking now it's cooler....happy holidays x
